At the time of the 2010 Census, Lambert had a population of 1,638 people (which is 20.08% of the total population of Quitman County). This makes Lambert the county's 2nd most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Lambert was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

X2X - From that list, the Lambert post office opened in 1904.
