So far, we found very little information about Doty. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Doty to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Doty - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Doty, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Doty , we believe that it would have been located within present day Attala County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Doty, you might consider that their post office opened in 1907.

Time Zone: The area where Doty was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 6 communities that are also named Doty - they are located in Michigan (2), Minnesota, Nebraska, Texas and Washington.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Doty was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Doty post office opened in 1907.

We also found Doty on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Mississippi (1911).
