From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for De Kalb was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<9>

X2X - From that list, the De Kalb post office opened in 1834.

We also found De Kalb in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
