Welcome to Commodore ...

So far, we found very little information about Commodore. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Commodore to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Commodore - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Commodore, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Commodore , we believe that it would have been located within present day Attala County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Commodore, you might consider that their post office opened in 1903.

Time Zone: The area where Commodore was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 2 communities that are also named Commodore - they are located in Georgia and Pennsylvania.

Adding Commodore to Our Gazetteer ...

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Commodore was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Commodore post office opened in 1903.

We also found Commodore on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Mississippi (1911).
