Welcome to Prairie Bird ...

So far, we found very little information about Prairie Bird. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Prairie Bird to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Prairie Bird - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Prairie Bird, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Prairie Bird , we believe that it would have been located within present day Adair County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Prairie Bird, you might consider that their post office opened in 1857.

Time Zone: The area where Prairie Bird was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Prairie Bird would have been located in the (660) area code.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Prairie Bird was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Prairie Bird post office opened in 1857.

We also found Prairie Bird in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
