So far, we found very little information about Owensville. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have the exact location of Owensville , we believe that it would have been located within present day Clay County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Owensville, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1839.

Time Zone: The area where Owensville was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Owensville would have been located in the (816) area code.

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Missouri communities named Owensville: This one is located in Clay County and the other is located in Gasconade County.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Owensville was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Owensville post office opened in 1839.
