The location of Lyda has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Lyda, you might consider that their post office opened in 1875. While the community is gone, the present day location for Lyda is 890 feet [271 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Lyda was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time Lyda would have been located in the (660) area code.
