Welcome to Hilo ...So far, we found very little information about Hilo. The location of Hilo has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Hilo, you might consider that their post office opened in 1906. While the community is gone, the present day location for Hilo is 1,280 feet [390 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Hilo was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time The location where Hilo once stood is in the (417) area code.
