At the time of the 2010 Census, Gentry had a population of 72 people. This makes Gentry the county's 6th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 72 people, the population of Gentry decreased 28.71% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 101 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Gentry was in the book titled Table of U.S. Post Offices in the United States (Jan. 1851).

We also found Gentry in the book titled .<7> From that list, the Gentry post office opened in 1899.
