Welcome to Gant ...

So far, we found very little information about Gant. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Gant to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Gant - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Gant, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Gant , we believe that it would have been located within present day Audrain County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Gant, you might consider that their post office opened in 1883.

Time Zone: The area where Gant was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Gant was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

X2X - From that list, the Gant post office opened in 1883.

We also found Gant in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
