So far, we found very little information about Crittenden. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Crittenden to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have the exact location of Crittenden , we believe that it would have been located within present day Daviess County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Crittenden, you might consider that their post office opened in 1851.

Time Zone: The area where Crittenden was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

If Crittenden still existed, it would have been in the (660) area code.

While we believe that this Crittenden is located in Daviess County, we know of another 2 Missouri communities named Crittenden. Those communities are located in the following counties: Camden and Morgan County.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Crittenden was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Crittenden post office opened in 1851.

We also found Crittenden in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
