Saint Charles County is one of the original counties of Missouri and was founded in 1812.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Saint Charles had a population of 401,625 people. This is an increase of 11.41% since the last Census (which gave a population of 360,485 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Saint Charles represented 6.02% of the total population of Missouri.
