The village of Chain-of-Rocks is located in Lincoln County<1>.



While we don't have a date for the founding of Chain-of-Rocks, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1869.

From the  Census Estimates for 2019, Chain-of-Rocks has a population of 104 people<2> (see below for details).

Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Chain-of-Rocks had an population of 104 people. This is an increase of 11.83% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 14.29% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Chain-of-Rocks had a population of 93 people. This makes Chain-of-Rocks the county's 10th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 93 people, the population of Chain-of-Rocks increased 2.2% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 91 people).

We originally found mention of Chain-of-Rocks in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Chain-of-Rocks was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Chain-of-Rocks post office opened in 1869.

We also found Chain-of-Rocks in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
