While we don't have a date for the founding of Adair, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1878.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Adair is 890 feet [271 m] above sea level.<4>.

Time Zone: The area where Adair was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

If Adair still existed, it would have been in the (660) area code.

We originally found mention of Adair in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Adair was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Adair post office opened in 1878.

We also found Adair in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
