Welcome to Star Island ...

So far, we found very little information about Star Island. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Star Island to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Star Island - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Star Island, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Star Island , we believe that it would have been located within present day Saint Clair County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Star Island, you might consider that their post office opened in 1889.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Star Island was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Star Island post office opened in 1889.

We also found Star Island in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
