So far, we found very little information about Merrillsville. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have the exact location of Merrillsville , we believe that it would have been located within present day Saint Clair County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Merrillsville, you might consider that their post office opened in 1852.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Merrillsville was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Merrillsville post office opened in 1852.

We also found Merrillsville in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
