At the time of the 2010 Census, Escanaba had a population of 12,616 people (or 34.03% of the total population of Delta County). This makes Escanaba the county's most populous community.

The population of Escanaba represents 0.13% of the total population of Michigan (which has 9,883,640 people), making it the state's 72nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 12,616 people, the population of Escanaba decreased 3.99% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 13,140 people).
