The community of Saint Johns is the Seat for Clinton County.

Clinton County was founded March 2, 1831. Clinton was created by taking area from Shiawassee and Kent Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Clinton had a population of 79,615 people. This is an increase of 5.62% since the last Census (which gave a population of 75,382 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Clinton represented 0.76% of the total population of Michigan.
