At the time of the 2010 Census, Charlotte had a population of 9,074 people (or 8.42% of the total population of Eaton County). This makes Charlotte the county's most populous community.

The population of Charlotte represents 0.09% of the total population of Michigan (which has 9,883,640 people), making it the state's 101st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 9,074 people, the population of Charlotte increased 8.17% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 8,389 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Charlotte was on a map titled Road Map for Michigan (from Shell Oil, 1956).

We also found Charlotte in the book titled .<9> From that list, the Charlotte post office opened in 1838.
