At the time of the 2010 Census, Wales had a population of 1,616 people. This makes Wales the county's 14th most populous community.

The population of Wales represents 0.12% of the total population of Maine (which has 1,328,361 people), making it the state's 191st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,616 people, the population of Wales increased 22.24% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,322 people).
