At the time of the 2010 Census, Tremont had a population of 1,563 people. This makes Tremont the county's 13th most populous community.

The population of Tremont represents 0.12% of the total population of Maine (which has 1,328,361 people), making it the state's 197th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,563 people, the population of Tremont increased 2.22% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,529 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Tremont was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Tremont post office opened in 1849.

We also found Tremont in the book titled Table of U.S. Post Offices in the United States (Jan. 1851).
