At the time of the 2010 Census, Brookline had a population of 58,732 people (or 8.75% of the total population of Norfolk County). This makes Brookline the county's 2nd most populous community.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Brookline was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Brookline post office opened in 1829.
