So far, we found very little information about Jewella. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Jewella would have been located within present day Caddo Parish<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Jewella, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1884.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Jewella is 230 feet [70 m] above sea level.<3>.

We originally found mention of Jewella in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Jewella was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<8>

X2X - From that list, the Jewella post office opened in 1884.

We also found Jewella in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).

<1>We use the term 'Historic' broadly and it generally means that the community no longer exists. However, it can also mean that the community might still exist, but was significantly larger or had a more 'official' existence in the past than it does now. Unfortunately our sources of data have proven to be unreliable. If you can provide us with more specific information about Jewella, please let us know so that we can improve our accuracy.

<3>The elevation is an estimate for the area around Jewella - it will be higher in some places and lower in others.
