Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Eunice had an population of 9,796 people. This is a decrease of 5.79% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 14.81% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Eunice had a population of 10,398 people (or 12.45% of the total population of Saint Landry Parish). This makes Eunice the parish's 2nd most populous community.

The population of Eunice represents 0.23% of the total population of Louisiana (which has 4,533,372 people), making it the state's 33rd most populous community.

We originally found mention of Eunice in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Eunice was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Eunice post office opened in 1894.

We also found Eunice mentioned on a train schedule titled Southern Pacific Railroad Time Tables (August 1903).
