Robertson County was founded in 1867. Robertson was created by taking area from Bracken, Harrison, Mason and Nicholas Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Robertson had a population of 2,108 people. This is a decrease of 7.34% since the last Census (which gave a population of 2,275 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Robertson represented 0.05% of the total population of Kentucky.
