Owen County was founded in 1819. Owen was created by taking area from Franklin, Gallatin and Scott Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Owen had a population of 10,884 people. This is an increase of 0.4% since the last Census (which gave a population of 10,841 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Owen represented 0.25% of the total population of Kentucky.
