Christian County was founded in 1796 and was created by taking area from Logan County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Christian had a population of 70,461 people. This is a decrease of 4.95% since the last Census (which gave a population of 74,130 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Christian represented 1.71% of the total population of Kentucky.
