Welcome to Swift ...

So far, we found very little information about Swift. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Swift to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Swift - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Swift, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Swift , we believe that it would have been located within present day Nemaha County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Swift, you might consider that their post office opened in 1890.

If Swift still existed, it would have been in the (785) area code.

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 14 communities that are also named Swift - they are located in Alabama, British Columbia, Florida, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Washington.

Adding Swift to Our Gazetteer ...

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Swift was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Swift post office opened in 1890.
