Welcome to Shermanville ...

So far, we found very little information about Shermanville. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Shermanville to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Shermanville - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Shermanville, please Contact Us.


While we don't have the exact location of Shermanville , we believe that it would have been located within present day Sherman County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Shermanville, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1883.

Time Zone: The area where Shermanville was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time

Shermanville would have been located in the (785) area code.

Communities Also Named Shermanville ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 2 communities that are also named Shermanville - they are located in Kentucky and Missouri.

Adding Shermanville to Our Gazetteer ...

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Shermanville was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Shermanville post office opened in 1883.

We also found Shermanville in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
