So far, we found very little information about Saunders. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Saunders to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have the exact location of Saunders , we believe that it would have been located within present day Rush County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Saunders, you might consider that their post office opened in 1886.

Saunders would have been located in the (785) area code.

While we believe that this Saunders is located in Rush County, we know of another 2 Kansas communities named Saunders. Those communities are located in the following counties: Ness and Stanton County.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Saunders was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Saunders post office opened in 1886.

We also found Saunders in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
