Welcome to Painterhood (aka 'Painterville') ...

So far, we found very little information about Painterhood. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Painterhood to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Painterhood - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Painterhood, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Painterhood <3>, we believe that it would have been located within present day Elk County<2>.

The location where Painterhood once stood is in the (620) area code.

The community of Painterhood has also been called Painterville.

Footnotes ...

<1>We use the term 'Historic' broadly and it generally means that the community no longer exists. However, it can also mean that the community might still exist, but was significantly larger or had a more 'official' existence in the past than it does now. Unfortunately our sources of data have proven to be unreliable. If you can provide us with more specific information about Painterhood, please let us know so that we can improve our accuracy.
<2>If you're interested in how the shape of Kansas' counties, including Elk, have changed over time, we recommend the Atlas of Historical County Boundaries.
<3>Painterhood is also known as Painterville. For more information, please visit our Genealogy Helper Page for Painterhood.
