Welcome to Oil Valley ...

So far, we found very little information about Oil Valley. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have the exact location of Oil Valley , we believe that it would have been located within present day Butler County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Oil Valley, you might consider that their post office opened in 1920.

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Oil Valley was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Oil Valley post office opened in 1920.
