Welcome to Oasis ...

So far, we found very little information about Oasis. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Oasis to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Oasis - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Oasis, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Oasis , we believe that it would have been located within present day Logan County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Oasis, you might consider that their post office opened in 1890.

The location where Oasis once stood is in the (785) area code.

While we believe that this Oasis is located in Logan County, we know of another 2 Kansas communities named Oasis. Those communities are located in the following counties: Saline and Smith County.

Beyond Kansas, there are 18 communities that are also named Oasis - they are located in British Columbia, California (3), Georgia, Iowa, Louisiana, Missouri (2), Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Tennessee, Texas (2) and Utah.

Adding Oasis to Our Gazetteer ...

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Oasis was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Oasis post office opened in 1890.
