So far, we found very little information about New Buffalo. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have the exact location of New Buffalo , we believe that it would have been located within present day Finney County<2>.
While we don't have a date for the founding of New Buffalo, you might consider that their post office opened in 1879.

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Kansas communities named New Buffalo: This one is located in Finney County and the other is located in Gray County.

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.
The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned New Buffalo was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>
From that list, the New Buffalo post office opened in 1879.
