Welcome to Lorenz ...

So far, we found very little information about Lorenz. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Lorenz to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Lorenz - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Lorenz, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Lorenz , we believe that it would have been located within present day Finney County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Lorenz, you might consider that their post office opened in 1887.

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Kansas communities named Lorenz: This one is located in Finney County and the other is located in Hodgeman County.

Adding Lorenz to Our Gazetteer ...

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Lorenz was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Lorenz post office opened in 1887.
