So far, we found very little information about Lena Valley. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have the exact location of Lena Valley , we believe that it would have been located within present day Lyon County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Lena Valley, you might consider that their post office opened in 1872.

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Kansas communities named Lena Valley: This one is located in Lyon County and the other is located in Greenwood County.

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Lena Valley was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Lena Valley post office opened in 1872.
