Welcome to Lanesfield ...

So far, we found very little information about Lanesfield. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Lanesfield to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Lanesfield - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Lanesfield, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Lanesfield , we believe that it would have been located within present day Johnson County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Lanesfield, you might consider that their post office opened in 1861.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Lanesfield was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Lanesfield post office opened in 1861.

We also found Lanesfield in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
