The origin (or the toponymy) of Kanorado: The name Kanorado is a portmanteau<2> and it reflects the fact that the community lies just east of the Kansas and Colorado border.

Kanorado is 3,910 feet [1,192 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the altitude of Kanorado is ¾ mile [or ~1¼ km] above sea level.

At the time of the 2010 Census, Kanorado had a population of 153 people. This makes Kanorado the county's 2nd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 153 people, the population of Kanorado decreased 38.31% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 248 people).
