Welcome to Handy ...

So far, we found very little information about Handy. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Handy to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Handy - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Handy, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Handy , we believe that it would have been located within present day Phillips County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Handy, you might consider that their post office opened in 1902.

If Handy still existed, it would have been in the (785) area code.

Communities Also Named Handy ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Kansas communities named Handy: This one is located in Phillips County and the other is located in Osborne County.

Beyond Kansas, there are 14 communities that are also named Handy - they are located in Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana (2), Michigan (2), Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio (2) and Texas.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Handy was in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).

We also found Handy in the book titled .<3> From that list, the Handy post office opened in 1902.
