Welcome to Glen ...

So far, we found very little information about Glen. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Glen to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Glen - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Glen, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Glen , we believe that it would have been located within present day Lincoln County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Glen, you might consider that their post office opened in 1898.

If Glen still existed, it would have been in the (785) area code.

Communities Also Named Glen ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Kansas communities named Glen: This one is located in Lincoln County and the other is located in Butler County.

Beyond Kansas, there are 27 communities that are also named Glen - they are located in Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland (2), Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire (2), New Mexico (2), New York (3), North Carolina, Ontario (2), Oregon, Pennsylvania, Quebec, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Glen was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Glen post office opened in 1898.
