Welcome to Elsea ...

So far, we found very little information about Elsea. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Elsea to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Elsea - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Elsea, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Elsea , we believe that it would have been located within present day Barber County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Elsea, you might consider that their post office opened in 1904.

Adding Elsea to Our Gazetteer ...

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Elsea was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Elsea post office opened in 1904.
