Welcome to Cowboy ...

So far, we found very little information about Cowboy. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Cowboy to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Cowboy - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Cowboy, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Cowboy , we believe that it would have been located within present day Ness County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Cowboy, you might consider that their post office opened in 1884.

The location where Cowboy once stood is in the (785) area code.

Communities Also Named Cowboy ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Kansas communities named Cowboy: This one is located in Ness County and the other is located in Hodgeman County.

Adding Cowboy to Our Gazetteer ...

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Cowboy was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Cowboy post office opened in 1884.
