Time Zone: Chase County lies in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time.

The community of Cottonwood Falls is the Seat for Chase County.

Chase County was founded February 11, 1859. Chase was created by taking area from Butler and  Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Chase had a population of 2,585 people. This is a decrease of 7.35% since the last Census (which gave a population of 2,790 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Chase represented 0.1% of the total population of Kansas.

While it makes interesting reading all by itself, it should be of special interest to genealogists and family historians looking for people who were either affected by or directly involved in such tragedies.
