So far, we found very little information about Corbitt. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Corbitt to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have the exact location of Corbitt , we believe that it would have been located within present day Ford County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Corbitt, you might consider that their post office opened in 1885.

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Corbitt was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Corbitt post office opened in 1885.
