So far, we found very little information about Claytonville. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have the exact location of Claytonville <3>, we believe that it would have been located within present day Brown County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Claytonville, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1857.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Claytonville was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

From that list, the Claytonville post office opened in 1857.

We also found Claytonville in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
