Welcome to Clark ...

So far, we found very little information about Clark. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Clark to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Clark - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Clark, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Clark , we believe that it would have been located within present day Clark County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Clark, you might consider that their post office opened in 1884.

Clark would have been located in the (620) area code.

Communities Also Named Clark ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Kansas communities named Clark: This one is located in Clark County and the other is located in Ford County.

Beyond Kansas, there are 38 communities that are also named Clark - they are located in Alabama (3), Colorado (2), Florida (2), Georgia, Illinois, Iowa (2), Kentucky (2), Michigan (2), Mississippi (2), Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina (2), Ohio (2), Ontario, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas (2), Virginia (2), West Virginia (2), Wisconsin and Wyoming.

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Clark was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Clark post office opened in 1884.
