Welcome to Caledonia ...

So far, we found very little information about Caledonia. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Caledonia to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Caledonia - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Caledonia, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Caledonia , we believe that it would have been located within present day Ottawa County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Caledonia, you might consider that their post office opened in 1876.

Caledonia would have been located in the (785) area code.

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 28 communities that are also named Caledonia - they are located in Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois (2), Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New York (2), North Carolina, North Dakota, Nova Scotia (3), Ohio, Ontario (2), Pennsylvania, Prince Edward Island, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.

Adding Caledonia to Our Gazetteer ...

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Caledonia was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Caledonia post office opened in 1876.
