Welcome to Byard ...

So far, we found very little information about Byard. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Byard to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Byard - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Byard, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Byard , we believe that it would have been located within present day Butler County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Byard, you might consider that their post office opened in 1858.

Adding Byard to Our Gazetteer ...

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Byard was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Byard post office opened in 1858.
