Welcome to Bland ...

So far, we found very little information about Bland. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Bland to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Bland - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Bland, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Bland , we believe that it would have been located within present day Bourbon County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Bland, you might consider that their post office opened in 1894.

If Bland still existed, it would have been in the (620) area code.

Communities Also Named Bland ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Kansas communities named Bland: This one is located in Bourbon County and the other is located in Reno County.

Beyond Kansas, there are 12 communities that are also named Bland - they are located in Arkansas (2), Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, New Mexico, North Carolina, Texas (2) and Virginia.

As we work on our Gazetteer, we occasionally find mention of a community that is new to us. When we find such a community, we add it to our Gazetteer with the hope of adding more information in the future.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Bland was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Bland post office opened in 1894.
