Welcome to Minetree ...

So far, we found very little information about Minetree. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Minetree would have been located within present day Morgan County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Minetree, you might consider that their post office opened in 1900.

Time Zone: The area where Minetree was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

Note: If you travel west from Minetree (for example, toward Vermilion (IL)), you will leave Eastern Time and cross into the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT).

The earliest source (so far) we've referenced which mentioned Minetree was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Minetree post office opened in 1900. The Minetree post office closed in 1903.
